With a hectic working schedule, hardly I find time to watch tv, but still, I have not lost my love for music. Whenever I find the time, I listen to my favourite music. Particularly I love to watch some music programmes like Sare Gama Pa, especially the kid's special.
It was a Saturday evening, the best time to relax and to enjoy the musical evening. I was knowing that I will have to face stiff competition for the same. Being a sincere hubby, I enquired with her. if any household work is pending. She was very happy at the extra sincere approach from my side., but the idea was to finish all the work well before the musical programme starts. As per my habit, I finished my dinner at 8 pm. And I was ready for my favourite programme.
I was knowing, remote has to be under my custody. Yes, I got hold of it and hid it behind the sofa cushion. Countdown had begun, just another 15 minutes. I would enjoy the programme. He had not returned from office. Generally, he returns after 9. I was expecting the same schedule from him. But, suddenly the doorbell rang and he was there, looking exhausted. He went upstairs. I was relaxed, he will take time and has no intention of disturbing me. Just 5 minutes left & I would listen to some of the very talented kids.
But I could hear he was getting down the stairs. I could see a young man with a red colour T-shirt and scarf, getting down in the staircase. Oh. God, it is the Manchester United jersey. That means, there is a clash of interest. Football vs music. Father vs Son. I was trying to hide the remote. But he knows me well, he just removed the cushion and got control of it.

He occupied his favourite seating place, where he would be there for the next 90 minutes. I just looked at her and as usual, both of us looked at each other and prayed to God, please make sure his team wins the match. A die-hard fan of Manchester United FC. Now the entire environment at our home depends on the match result. If Man Utd wins then everything is fine, if not then... I was again looking at the photos of Sai Baba. You can have the feel of the international football stadium inside our home. He will shout, scream and celebrate depending upon the result. He will be supported by the younger bro. You can't move in front of the tv, no mobile, no sound and no enquiry about dinner. If Lukaku missed a chance, then, just look at his face. If David De Gea could not save the goal, then he will get a lesson on how to keep goal.
I knew, how to behave now. As a good papa, I would have to wait for the repeat programme of music. Suddenly I became very caring and offer her a drive and a treat at the ice cream parlour. But she knows, she can't move out. If everything is fine for Man Utd, then any item in dinner is ok, otherwise, she will be advised for some variety in dinner. The environment at my Home is controlled by Man Utd. I respect them a lot. I always pray to God to make them the winner.
He reminds me of Sondip Ghatak my friend, needless to clarify his home state. Who like any other Bengali, is crazy about football.
Now I will be missing the Man Utd boy. I can watch my favourite programmes without any interruption. I will not hide the remote anymore. But I will not enjoy the sweetness of the music. He will be leaving for doing his MBA from Mudra Institute of Communication ( MICA). He has worked very hard for it. All the best my dear son. I am proud of you 'Milind'. Keep up your love for sports. Live your life. Enjoy every moment of your life. I promise, at home, I will maintain the same Man Utd environment.
